I'm back from a couple days away from home and away from an Internet connection. By the way, I'm way, way behind on my email, so if you have been waiting to hear back from me, I apologize for the delay.
Science and Christianity Showcase
Catez of Allthings2all has posted her Science and Christianity Showcase. I have read only a couple of the entries so far, but if they are any indication, this is a great showcase.
Christian Carnival
ChristWeb is hosting this week's Christian Carnival. Participation instructions can be found here. The deadline is Tuesday night at midnight, EST. Please note that all entries, every week, should be sent to this address. Not to my address. Not to the Christian Carnival email list. Not directly to the host or hostess.
Anyone writing from a Christian point of view is welcome to submit a post written since last Wednesday's carnival.
Another Sign of Spring
In my neighborhood we are blessed with a flock of wild peafowl. Last night I heard the peacocks calling out in voices that only a peahen could love, and received more encouragement that, in spite of today's freezing temperatures, spring is on its way.
Terri Schiavo
Keep Terri Schiavo in your prayers this week, as Friday is the date her court-ordered dehydration and starvation are to begin. Judge Greer has denied all potentially life-saving requests, including, incredibly, a request to allow Terri to be fed by natural means after the feeding tube has been withdrawn. She will be denied food and water even if she is able to take them by mouth. (Details of court actions here.) There are actions still pending in a higher court, and also legislative issues and an investigation by the Department of Children and Families into allegations of possible abuse. Pray that one of these will be God's means of saving Terri from this horrible death.
According to the St. Petersburg Times, DCF may have the authority to take Terri Schiavo into protective custody, though they have declined to discuss this possibility. Apparently Michael Schiavo's attorney fears they will do just that, and the Schindlers' attorney is encouraging the action.
Also according to the St. Petersburg Times, congress is fast-tracking some legislation that may provide Terri with a her own attorney and a hearing before a federal court before any starvation order can be executed.

Thanks Dory - the posts in the Showcase are very good. I am really hoping that legislation goes through which could help Terri. And I think the DCF should take her into protective custody - they can wrangle with the obstructive lawyer afterward. God bless you - hope you are Ok and had a profitable time away.

Are you aware that today (Wednesday March 16) a Catholic group are taking a relic of Blessed John Newman - who is up for sainthood - to Terri Schiavo and asking for a miracle for her? We are all praying that our Lord will perform this miracle, in spite of her husband and all others who are trying to hinder God's will.
