House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has announced a House and Senate compromise bill that will insure Terri Schiavo an appeal in the Federal Courts. The Senate will meet this evening and the House will meet on Sunday.
Update: It looks like the compromise that was reached will be in a form closer to the Senate bill, that addresses Terri's case alone, rather than the House version that provides federal judicial review for any incapacitated persons in similar situations. This may present problems that could result in the law being overturned. However, this may buy Terri some time while the details of a broader bill that is acceptable to both parties can be worked out.
