Christian Carnival
The latest Christian Carnival is up at A Penitent Blogger. Our host, Penitens, did a great job producing a very readable carnival post, and there is a great variety of Christian thought showcased for your reading pleasure.
Blogging and Discretion
Violet of promptings has a very thoughtful post on Blogging and Discretion. We bloggers need to find that balance between an openness that gives our writing an authenticity to which our readers can relate, and the discretion that properly hedges in the privacy of ourselves and our families. Violet articulates this balance in a helpful way.
Iraqi Teen Blog
I learn so much reading the bloggers living in Iraq. I can understand the perspectives of real people in a way that is impossible to do listening to the evening news. Here's a new one written by a teenage girl in Mosul. It's called days of my life. She vividly describes hiding from terrorist attacks in her home, and fleeing to the home of relatives, as well as what happened the day her sister's school became a part of the battleground. (Also an excellent antidote for any teens you know who sometimes are tempted to complain about how difficult their lives are--and any adults you know--like me.)
Dory, thanks for the kind words, and for the link! (You don't know how I agonized over that post!)
